About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Help Desk Support Specialist with expertise in programming and accounting principles. The candidate will have experience with CA 2e (Synon), RPG, SQL, DB2, and ERP accounting systems, as well as knowledge of Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Accounts Payable processes. The Help Desk Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, and ensuring smooth operations of our ERP software. Responsibilities: - Provide technical support to end-users. - Communicate with end-users via phone, email, ticketing system, and screenshare applications when necessary. - Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network issues. - Install, configure, and maintain software application components. - Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues. - Document all support activities and solutions in the help desk ticketing system. - Provide training and support to end-users on software applications. - Assist in the implementation of projects and initiatives. - Utilize programming skills to develop scripts or small applications to automate tasks or improve efficiency. Education and Experience - Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, or related field - 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Accounts Payable processes or CPA certification - 2+ years of experience in a help desk or technical support role Technical skill set - Proficiency in CA 2e (Synon), RPG, SQL, DB2, and ERP accounting systems. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Experience in programming (e.g., scripting, application development) - Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) preferred. Communication skill set - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to follow through the troubleshooting process from start to finish including communication to customer and internal teams Character traits - Ability to work independently and as a team player - Desire to build and maintain a positive rapport with customers - Proactive - Self-motivated to learn and grow in role
