PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL ISD EDUCATOR
Liberty Hill ISD Educators are compassionate leaders, effective collaborators, adaptable thinkers,
determined problem-solvers, and skilled communicators.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide instructional coaching and professional learning to teachers to improve outcomes for
Emergent Bilingual students. Support the implementation of ELPS-aligned instruction, language
development strategies, and high-quality Tier 1 practices through coaching cycles, data analysis,
and collaborative planning. Partner with campus and district leaders to strengthen instructional
systems that support language acquisition and academic success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
● Master’s degree in education or related field preferred
● Valid Texas Teacher Certificate
● ESL Certification required (or Bilingual Supplemental - Spanish Certification)
Experience
● Minimum three years of successful teaching experience required
● Experience working with Emergent Bilingual students required
● Experience in instructional coaching, professional learning, or teacher leadership preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and English Language
Proficiency Standards (ELPS)
● Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for Emergent Bilingual students, including
sheltered instruction and language development practices

● Skill in coaching adult learners and providing actionable feedback to improve instructional

● Skill in analyzing student data, including TELPAS and classroom performance, to inform

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Coaching and Teacher Support
● Provide instructional coaching and support to teachers serving Emergent Bilingual students
across assigned campuses
● Model, co-teach, and support the implementation of effective ESL instructional strategies,
including Content-Based Language Instruction and sheltered instruction techniques
● Support teachers in planning lessons aligned to ELPS and content standards, including the
use of clear language objectives
● Engage in coaching cycles and provide timely, actionable feedback to improve instructional
practices and student outcomes
Professional Learning
● Develop and deliver professional learning related to ESL instructional strategies, newcomer
support, TELPAS, and language development
● Train and support teachers in implementing ELPS-aligned instruction and integrating
language objectives into daily instruction
● Build teacher capacity to support Emergent Bilingual students at varying levels of language
proficiency
Data and Student Outcomes
● Analyze student data, including TELPAS and classroom performance, to support
instructional planning for Emergent Bilingual students
● Support campus teams in using data to improve outcomes for Emergent Bilingual students
● Assist with LPAC compliance processes during peak times, as needed, in coordination with
LPAC Compliance staff

Collaboration and Program Support
● Work collaboratively with campus administrators to strengthen instructional supports for
Emergent Bilingual students
● Collaborate with district curriculum and Teaching and Learning staff to align EB supports
with instructional frameworks
● Support multiple campuses, with initial focus on identified priority campuses, and adjust
assignments based on district needs
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Supervise assigned teacher para(s) and volunteer(s), student teacher(s), intern(s), beginning
teacher(s) as needed.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
● Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional
equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
● Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping,
pushing/pulling, and twisting
● Motion: Frequent walking
● Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks
and classroom equipment
