About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused Level 1 System Administrator / IT Support Specialist to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for internal staff, handling day-to-day user support, maintaining core Microsoft ecosystem services, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring seamless office productivity.

Key Responsibilities
1. User Access & File Permissions Management
- Administer NTFS and Share permissions on local servers and network drives (SMB/NAS).
- Provision, modify, and audit user access rights while maintaining strict least-privilege security standards.
- Map network drives and troubleshoot user access or file lock issues using basic Windows administrative tools (icacls, File Explorer).
2. Microsoft 365 & Office Administration
- Perform user onboarding/offboarding, license assignment, and password/MFA resets via M365 Admin Center and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Troubleshoot Outlook desktop and web client issues (profile creation, .ost repair, cached mode, add-in conflicts).
- Manage shared mailboxes, distribution groups, alias creation, and trace basic mail delivery issues in Exchange Admin Center (EAC).
3. Desktop, Peripheral & Printer Support
- Install, configure, and maintain local and network-shared printers across TCP/IP networks.
- Resolve spooler hangs, queue jams, driver conflicts, and print server connectivity errors.
- Provide general hardware/software support for Windows desktops and laptops.
4. First-Line Network Troubleshooting
- Diagnose local connectivity issues (LAN/Wi-Fi, IP assignment, gateway connectivity, and DNS resolution).
- Perform command-line network diagnostics using ipconfig, ping, nslookup, and tracert.
- Assist with basic router, switch port, and patch panel physical checks.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years in an IT Helpdesk, Technical Support, or L1 Systems Administration role.
- OS Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Windows 10/11 and basic Windows Server fundamentals.
- M365 Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Outlook email troubleshooting.
- Networking Basics: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and local network setups.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, clear verbal/written communication, and a patient, user-first attitude.
Nice-to-Haves (Bonus)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals (MD-102 or MS-900).
- Basic PowerShell scripting experience for automating routine tasks.
- Familiarity with ticketing platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Freshservice).
