Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Legislative Assistant (Research) role based in New Delhi. The Legislative Assistant (Research) will support policy and legal projects by conducting in-depth legislative research on laws, regulations, and government policies at various levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include tracking legislative developments, analyzing bills and policy proposals, preparing concise briefs and reports, and maintaining updated databases of relevant statutes and case law. The role will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather information, clarify legal and regulatory questions, and provide timely research inputs for client engagements. The Legislative Assistant will also assist in drafting communication materials related to legislative matters, contribute to presentations and client deliverables, and support the development of knowledge repositories and best-practice documents.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Legislative Research and Law, including the ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and policy documents.
- Knowledge of Legislation and Legislative Relations, with familiarity in how laws are formulated, debated, and implemented.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written analysis, structured reporting, and the ability to present complex information concisely.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and information-synthesis abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using legal databases, online research tools, and standard office productivity software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in legislative research, policy analysis, or work with government bodies, think tanks, or law firms is an advantage.
