JOB SUMMARY: Compliance Officer will regularly work with Department Directors and Managers, Regulatory Agencies, and vendors to evaluate, assess, and coordinate remediation of most compliance and regulatory issues.
SUPERVISION EXCERCISED: None.
LICENSE REQUIRED: Must obtain and hold a Class III gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION FOR POSITION: Must be able to demonstrate business-writing skills and have minimum of two years experience in the gaming industry, preferably Tribal Gaming. Candidates must have experience working with Title 31, NIGC or Tribal Gaming MICS.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must posses manual and finger dexterity for operation of computer and other office equipment. Required to sit for extended periods of time. May need to climb stairs several times a day. Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: 10 key, good math skills, computer literate with strong Microsoft Office experience, knowledgeable in all areas of gaming industry. Individual should posses good people skills, strong oratory skills, be detailed oriented, and have a high level of integrity.

- Ensure and maintain compliance with all ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations including but not limited to: NIGC Regulations, Yakama Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls and other communications from regulatory personnel.
- Reviews, records, distribute, and files violation responses from regulatory bodies and forwards copies to the management.
- Makes suggestions to increase accountability and/or clarification to department director/manager submitting request.
- Receives internal controls approved by department directors or managers and reviews the document for compatibility and consistency with regulatory requirements and operational needs.
- Submits internal controls to TGA and works with TGA to make required revisions to submitted internal controls and procedures to achieve final approval.
- Assist in performance of random observations, inquires, and testing.
- Meets with regulators and management about compliance issues.
- Receives, audits, maintains, files, and investigates documents and records pertaining to Treasury Department Title 31 regulation.
- Performs compliance related reviews through document testing, process observation and interviews; issues a draft report to the Compliance Manager for review and approval.
- Assists with or performs Title 31, Title 26, internal control, and policy training for various casino personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Compliance Manager that are in relation to the objective for achieving compliance in all areas required by policy and procedure.
- Builds relationships inside and outside of their department / team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.
