Role Description
Diwan Advocates is seeking a Legal Typist for a full time, on site role at its Delhi office. The role involves typing and formatting legal pleadings, petitions, applications, notices, written submissions, and legal correspondence, along with audio transcription, document management, and coordination with advocates and staff for timely filing and preparation of matters. The position requires accuracy, speed, confidentiality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced litigation environment.
Qualifications
- Strong typing and audio typing skills with high accuracy and speed
- Prior experience in typing legal pleadings, court filings, notices, affidavits, and litigation related documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, formatting tools, PDF handling, scanning, printing, and general office software
- Good understanding of legal drafting formats, court filing practices, and document management
- Strong clerical and organizational skills, including filing, indexing, record maintenance, and document handling
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to strict timelines
- Prior experience in a law firm, litigation office, advocate chamber, or legal environment would be preferred
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Minimum educational qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate. Additional certifications in typing, stenography, or legal administration would be an added advantage
