Role Description The Legal Officer will be responsible for managing legal matters related to the company’s lending and operational activities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and vetting loan documents, contracts, and legal agreements; coordinating with internal departments to provide legal guidance on business initiatives; and supporting recovery, litigation, and dispute resolution processes. The role involves liaising with external legal counsel, monitoring case progress, maintaining legal records, and preparing reports for management. The Legal Officer will also assist in implementing legal policies and risk mitigation strategies and in conducting legal due diligence where required. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kaithal.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and Business Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
- Experience in Contract Law and Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements.
- Background in Legal Consulting, providing practical legal advice to business teams and supporting decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; postgraduate qualification (LLM) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in an NBFC, banking, or financial services environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of lending, recovery, and regulatory frameworks applicable to financial institutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive matters.
- Ability to work on-site in Kaithal, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
