Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and proactive legal professional to manage litigation, non-litigation, compliance, contractual, and regulatory matters for the organization. The role requires strong legal drafting, coordination, liaison, and advisory skills with the ability to work closely with management, senior counsel, government authorities, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation
- Attend court matters and coordinate legal proceedings.
- Draft and file applications, replies, affidavits, notices, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and case law analysis.
- Liaise between management and Senior Counsel for effective communication and defense strategy planning.
- Review and approve draft applications before filing and update management regularly.
- Maintain and organize records of legal matters, including soft and hard copy documentation.
- Track hearing dates, case progress, and follow up with advocates promptly.
- Provide legal opinions, advice, and strategic inputs on ongoing matters.
- Draft and issue legal notices related to contractual breaches and recovery proceedings under management guidance.
Non-Litigation
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements including:
- Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs)
- Leave & License Agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Software License Agreements
- Vendor/Service Agreements
- Website Development Agreements
- Joint Venture/Collaboration Agreements
- Monitor and track AMC renewals in coordination with relevant departments.
- Draft employment contracts, service bonds, expatriate contracts, and workshop agreements for teaching and non-teaching staff.
Coordination & Advisory
- Coordinate with various departments to improve operational processes, transparency, and legal compliance.
- Advise department heads on legal, factual, and procedural matters.
- Support management with legal risk assessment and business decision-making.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Advise management on amendments and changes in legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Assist in implementing compliance policies and procedures.
Trademarks
- Coordinate with Trademark Attorneys on trademark-related matters.
- Assist in filing trademark applications, renewals, and maintaining trademark records.
Government & External Liaison
- Interact and coordinate with government authorities and agencies as required.
- Draft letters, notices, and responses to legal and statutory communications.
- Review legal notices and correspondence received by the organization and update management accordingly.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university
- Enrollment with the Bar Council preferred
- Relevant experience in litigation, contracts, compliance, and corporate legal matters preferred
- Experience in the education sector or corporate environment will be an added advantage
