We are looking for a qualified and experienced Advocate to oversee the legal affairs of Manipur International University (MIU). The role involves managing legal notices, dispute resolution, litigation, legal documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and respond to legal notices.
- Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters.
- Coordinate with external advocates and monitor court cases.
- Draft and review agreements, contracts, affidavits, MOUs, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice to management on operational and regulatory matters.
- Represent the University before courts, tribunals, and government authorities, as required.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain legal records and identify legal risks with preventive recommendations.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. degree from a recognized University.
- Bar Council enrollment preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in litigation, dispute resolution, legal advisory, or corporate legal practice.
- Experience in the Education or EdTech industry is an added advantage.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Indian legal systems, civil and commercial laws, and litigation procedures.
- Excellent legal drafting, documentation, negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple legal matters with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English, Hindi, and Malayalam (written and spoken).
Work Location:
- On-site position based in Manipur. Candidates should be willing to relocate or work from Manipur.
