Hiring: In-House Legal Counsel – Real Estate
We are looking to hire an In-House Legal Counsel / Real Estate Legal Advisor to work closely with our management team at a growing real estate development company in Chennai.
We are looking for someone who has strong practical experience in real estate and property law and can independently handle and coordinate the legal requirements of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend internal and external meetings with the management team and prepare detailed meeting minutes, action points and follow-ups
• Draft, review and negotiate Joint Venture (JV) proposals, JV agreements, development agreements, sale agreements, sale deeds, MoUs, POAs, construction agreements and other property-related documents
• Conduct and coordinate title due diligence, title verification and property documentation
• Have a strong understanding of RERA, Registration Act, Stamp Duty, Transfer of Property Act, Tamil Nadu property laws, CMDA/DTCP regulations and other applicable real estate regulations
• Review land documents, parent documents, ECs, patta, approvals, plans and other property records
• Coordinate with external advocates, consultants, architects, engineers, government authorities and registration offices
• Assist the management in structuring JVs, land acquisitions, development arrangements and property transactions
• Identify legal risks in transactions and provide practical solutions to the management
• Handle legal notices, disputes, arbitration matters and litigation coordination with external counsel
• Maintain proper records and legal documentation for all ongoing and completed projects
• Ensure that contractual obligations, timelines and legal compliances are properly tracked
What we’re looking for:
• LL.B / B.L. qualification from a recognised university
• 3–8 years of relevant experience in real estate/property law
• Strong practical knowledge of property documentation and real estate transactions
• Experience drafting and reviewing JV agreements, sale deeds, development agreements, MoUs and related documents
• Good understanding of RERA and Tamil Nadu real estate regulations
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to independently attend meetings, understand commercial discussions and translate them into legally sound documentation
• Someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable working closely with senior management

Role: Full-time | In-house
This is a hands-on role with significant exposure to real estate development, acquisitions, joint ventures and high-value property transactions.
