Role Description
We are seeking dynamic and legally proficient professionals to join the Founder’s Office in one of the following capacities:
Legal & Compliance Officer / Legal & Compliance Manager / Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Advisor / Director – Legal Affairs
These roles involve working closely with the Founder and management team to ensure that the organization operates within all applicable legal and regulatory frameworks while establishing strong internal governance practices.
The responsibilities will include providing legal guidance on business operations, handling legal and regulatory matters, ensuring statutory compliance, drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements, preparing and vetting legal documentation, monitoring regulatory developments, and assisting in managing litigation matters when required.
The selected candidate(s) will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s legal interests while supporting its growth in the advertising, media production, talent management, and marketing sectors.
As part of the Founder’s Office, the candidate will also contribute to building the company’s legal and compliance framework from the ground up, helping establish policies, procedures, and governance systems that will guide the organization as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance & Advisory
• Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Provide legal guidance to the management team on business operations and decisions.
• Monitor updates in labour laws, corporate laws, media regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Identify potential legal risks and suggest preventive measures.
Contract Drafting & Legal Documentation
• Draft, review, and vet contracts, including:
- Vendor agreements
- Client agreements
- Model contracts
- Employment agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
• Identify legal risks within contractual documents and advise management accordingly.
• Draft legal notices, replies, affidavits, agreements, and other legal documents.
Intellectual Property & Technology Law
• Conduct research on Intellectual Property (IP) laws, technology laws, digital media regulations, and emerging legal frameworks relevant to the company’s activities.
• Provide guidance on the protection of intellectual property, including copyrights, trademarks, licensing, and digital content rights.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of IP applications (such as trademarks, copyrights, and other applicable protections) while ensuring that all documentation, formats, and filing procedures comply with the applicable legal requirements.
• Ensure that IP filings, documentation, and legal submissions follow the proper format, structure, and regulatory procedures before submission to relevant authorities.
• Work closely with the Founder and technical team to review and structure technical documentation, concepts, and product descriptions to ensure they meet legal and filing standards.
• Educate and guide the Founder, technical team, and relevant departments on how to prepare documents and disclosures in a format suitable for IP protection and regulatory filings.
• Identify potential intellectual property risks, ownership issues, or licensing requirements associated with company products, creative assets, and technology platforms.
Labour Law & Employment Matters
• Provide guidance on labour law compliance including:
- ESI
- PF
- Gratuity
- Shops & Establishment Act
• Assist HR and Talent Management teams in handling employee disputes, disciplinary actions, and legal notices.
• Support the drafting and implementation of internal policies.
Litigation & Legal Proceedings
• Prepare case documents, legal replies, and notices.
• Draft replies to legal notices and pleadings related to suits, arbitration proceedings, and disputes.
• Handle litigation matters involving the company.
• Represent Glamaxia before courts of law where permitted.
• Coordinate with external advocates and law firms regarding ongoing cases.
Government & Regulatory Liaison
• Assist in matters involving government departments, statutory authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Support regulatory filings and compliance documentation.
Legal Records Management
• Maintain records of legal documents, agreements, contracts, and case files.
• Ensure proper documentation and archiving for legal and regulatory purposes.
Qualifications
• LLB from a recognized university.
• LLM or PG Diploma / Certificate in any of the following fields will be an advantage:

Professional Requirements
• Registration with the Bar Council of India is preferred for candidates intending to represent the company in legal proceedings.

Legal & Compliance Officer
• Suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with limited professional experience seeking internship opportunities.
• LLB from a recognized university is required.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong legal research, documentation, and drafting skills.
• Will primarily assist senior leadership with legal research, compliance documentation, contract drafting support, and record management under supervision.
Legal & Compliance Manager
• Candidates with 2-3 years of relevant legal experience in corporate compliance, regulatory matters, or legal operations.
• Expected to manage compliance frameworks, statutory obligations, and internal legal processes.
• Should be capable of reviewing contracts, managing legal documentation, and coordinating with external legal counsel.
Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Advisor / Director – Legal Affairs
• Candidates with 5–10 years of relevant legal experience with strong exposure to corporate law, intellectual property, technology law, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and investment-related legal frameworks.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, intellectual property, technology law, investment structures, regulatory frameworks, or media and technology law will be highly desirable.
• Should demonstrate the ability to provide strategic legal guidance to the leadership team, manage complex legal matters, and supervise legal documentation and compliance activities.
• Expected to provide legal advice to management, draft and negotiate contracts, and assess legal risks associated with business activities.
• Expected to lead the legal function of the organization, oversee compliance strategy, manage litigation matters, and advise the Founder and management on major legal and governance decisions.
• Candidates applying for senior leadership roles should be comfortable working within a startup environment, where compensation structures may include deferred payments, equity participation, and long-term incentive alignment during the early growth phase of the organization.
Compensation
This position is part of the Founder’s Office and offers an opportunity to work closely with the founding team in building the legal and governance framework of the organization.
Compensation will be structured as follows:
• Salary aligned with median legal salary benchmarks in India, subject to the company’s financial allocation and operational stage.
• During the initial 6–12 months, compensation may be deferred, partially deferred, or structured as annual payment, depending on incoming funds, project revenues, and financial capacity of the company.
Equity Participation
Given the strategic importance of this role, the selected candidate may also be eligible for equity participation in the company.
• Equity allocation may range from 2% to 4% shares of the company, depending on the candidate’s level of involvement, long-term commitment, and contribution to the organization.
• Equity terms will be structured through a formal agreement and vesting schedule as mutually decided between the candidate and the Founder.
