Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure the factory's adherence to statutory regulations covering labour, safety, and environmental requirements. The ideal candidate will manage documentation, training, and audits across multiple compliance areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Factory Act Returns: Prepare, file, and maintain statutory returns and registers under the Factories Act in a timely and accurate manner; liaise with labour and factory inspectorate authorities as needed.
Waste Management: Ensure compliance with hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal regulations; maintain waste management records and coordinate with pollution control boards.
Fire Safety Training: Organize and conduct periodic fire safety drills and training sessions for employees; maintain fire safety equipment records and ensure compliance with fire safety norms.
Labour Welfare: Oversee implementation of labour welfare schemes (canteen, restrooms, first aid, etc.) as mandated by law; address employee welfare concerns and grievances.
Safety Compliance: Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments; implement and monitor occupational health and safety (OHS) policies; investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant labour laws, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
Prepare reports and documentation for internal management and external regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Industrial Safety, Labour Law, Environmental Science, or related); Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in factory compliance, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), or labour welfare roles.
- Strong knowledge of the Factories Act, labour welfare laws, and fire/safety regulations.
- Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
