We are looking for a business-first legal professional who can act as a strategic partner to the leadership team while safeguarding the company’s legal and compliance framework. This role goes beyond traditional legal support—you will enable growth by building scalable legal processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving risk-aware decision-making in a fast-paced, D2C/startup environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising & Investor Compliance
- Lead legal due diligence for future fundraising rounds
- Manage investor reporting and maintain an audit-ready data room
2. Corporate Secretarial
- Manage Board meetings, including agenda and drafting minutes
- Ensure timely MCA/SEC filings and statutory compliance
- Oversee ESOP pool administration
3. Consumer & IP Protection
- Draft and update Terms of Service and Privacy Policies
- Manage trademark filings and protect the brand’s IP portfolio
4. Contract Management
- Review and negotiate complex agreements (marketing, logistics, vendor, employment)
- Ensure contracts are aligned with business and risk requirements
5. Litigation & Notices
- Handle consumer court cases and legal notices
- Coordinate with external counsel for effective resolution
Qualifications & Experience
- LL.B. required; CS (Company Secretary) certification preferred - Dual qualification is a strong advantage
- Ability to move from “No, we can’t do that” to “Here’s how we can do that safely”
- Balances legal risk with business agility
- Strong understanding of Consumer Protection laws
- Knowledge of Data Privacy regulations (GDPR/DPDP) and FDI norms (if applicable)
- Comfortable working with Founders, Board Members, and VC/legal teams
- Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for business teams
- High accuracy in legal documentation and filings
- Careful handling of critical areas like SH-7 filings and ESOP vesting schedules
