Job Summa
ryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while mitigating legal risks in our software development, IT services, and business operations. You will serve as a key advisor to management on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters in the fast-paced technology secto
r.
Key Responsibilit
ies- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize various contracts and agreements, including client service agreements, software licensing, NDAs, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and employment contrac
ts.- Provide legal advice on corporate governance, intellectual property (IP) protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, and technology-specific regulations (e.g., IT Act, GDPR implications, DPDP Ac
t).- Ensure regulatory compliance with Indian laws and international standards relevant to IT/software compani
es.- Identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations, product development, and client engagemen
ts.- Handle dispute resolution, litigation support, and coordination with external counsel when requir
ed.- Assist in company secretarial matters, including corporate filings, board resolutions, and statutory complianc
es.- Support business development teams with legal due diligence for new clients, partnerships, or expansio
ns.- Monitor changes in relevant laws and update internal policies according
ly.- Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memos, and reports for senior manageme
nt.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, HR, finance, product) to embed legal considerations into operatio
ns.
Qualifications and Requir
ements- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate/Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, or Technology Law is pref
erred.- Bar Membership: Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of
India.- Experience:4–8 years of relevant experience as a Legal Advisor, Corporate Counsel, or in a law firm handling IT/Technology clients. In-house experience in a software/IT services company is a strong adva
ntage.- Strong knowledge of Indian contract law, corporate law, IP laws, data protection, and IT regula
tions.- Experience in handling technology contracts, SaaS agreements, and compliance with privacy laws is highly desi
rable.- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills (both verbal and wri
tten).- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented enviro
nment.- High ethical standards and attention to d
etail.
Preferred
Skills- Familiarity with international contracts and cross-border transa
ctions.- Experience in startup or mid-sized tech enviro
nments.- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research
tools.
