About the role

About the Role

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for driving financial performance and strategic decision-making across a fast-growing, multi-partner platform. This is the senior finance leadership role for operational finance by owning FP&A, budgeting, financial reporting, and the systems and team that make it all run. You will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the executive leadership team, reporting to the CFO, and have direct exposure to the board through regular financial reporting and review. You will also play a meaningful role in the M&A diligence process, overseeing financial workstreams on acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Finance & FP&A

  • Lead the Regional Operational Finance team which is responsible for financial operations across partner companies, driving standardization of reporting, controls, and processes at scale.
  • Lead all FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and scenario modeling that inform executive and board-level decision-making.
  • Own and drive the full annual budgeting process from target setting and financial modeling through department collaboration and executive presentation.
  • Partner with the Corporate Controller to manage month-end close, variance analysis, and financial consolidation.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights through KPI dashboards and performance reporting that empower leadership to act with confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain timely, accurate financial reporting at monthly, quarterly, and annual levels.
  • Optimize working capital and cash flow forecasting to ensure liquidity and support continued business growth.
  • Develop and continuously improve financial models that enhance visibility into company performance and profitability.
  • Ownership of financial systems including analytics platforms and data visualization tools to streamline reporting, improve data accuracy, and enable faster decision-making across the platform.

M&A Diligence

  • Oversee the financial diligence workstream on acquisition targets, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors to ensure thorough, timely analysis.
  • Review target company financials, support quality of earnings assessments, and pressure-test assumptions in deal models ahead of close.
  • Prepare investment memos and financial materials for executive leadership and board presentation on acquisition recommendations.
  • Support post-acquisition financial integration to ensure new partners are onboarded to company systems and reporting standards effectively.

Team Leadership

  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing operational finance team focused on accuracy, analytical depth, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational excellence within the finance function.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, and Marketing leadership to align financial goals with broader business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful time in senior leadership roles
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations and driving performance in a multi-unit or distributed business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable reporting and dashboards for executive and board audiences
  • Strong command of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting methodologies
  • Experience with financial diligence on acquisition targets is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and GAAP best practices
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems including modeling, accounting, and reporting platforms
  • CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Prior experience working with private equity sponsors preferred

Who You Are

You are a clear communicator who puts employees and partners first, a creative problem-solver who doesn't let things linger, and someone who moves fast without cutting corners. Above all, you hold yourself to a higher standard. In your work, your judgment, and how you treat people.

What Onboarding Looks Like

In your first 30 days, you will assess the full scope of the finance function, understanding the reporting infrastructure, team capabilities, partner financial performance, and executive information needs. By day 60, you will be running the operational finance cycle independently, have identified the highest-priority improvements to reporting and controls, and established your presence as a credible financial voice with the executive team. By day 90, you are operating as the senior operational finance leader for the platform by driving the budget process, delivering board-ready financial reporting, and beginning to contribute meaningfully to M&A diligence activity.

The 5 Big Things — What Success Looks Like

  1. Financial clarity drives decisions: Success means budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards are accurate, timely, and actionable. Executive and board leadership make better decisions because of the financial visibility you provide.
  2. FP&A runs like a best-in-class function: Success means consistent reporting, disciplined variance analysis, and reliable forecasting are in place across all business units. The finance function is a source of confidence.
  3. Operations and finance move together: Success means you are a trusted strategic partner to the executive team and financial goals are aligned with operational strategy, and leadership never feels like finance and operations are working from different playbooks.
  4. Controls and systems are tight: Success means finance processes, reporting controls, and technology are standardized and reliable. Close cycles run smoothly, cash is optimized, and the platform scales without adding proportional complexity to the finance function.
  5. The team and your skill set grow: Success means the operational finance team is developing under your leadership and performing at a high level. You are actively expanding your M&A capabilities, contributing to diligence with increasing confidence and depth over time.
