Role Description
This is a contractual position for SSS Global Apex, based in Kolkata. The designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and creating innovative leather accessory collections, including bags, wallets and travel goods. Day-to-day tasks include sketching designs, selecting materials, coordinating with the production team, and adhering to client specifications. The designer will also stay updated on global market trends, participate in client meetings, and collaborate on new product development aligned with market demands.
Qualifications
- Design Skills: Proficiency in sketching, pattern-making, and CAD design software with a strong sense of aesthetics and creativity.
- Material Knowledge: In-depth understanding of leather types, finishes, and accessories hardware for product design and development.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including production units, suppliers, and clients, to ensure seamless execution of designs.
- Research and Trend Analysis: Strong ability to research market trends and integrate consumer preferences into design concepts.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with the manufacturing process, prototyping, and quality control procedures in the leather goods industry.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a related field, with prior experience in leather goods design preferred.
- Additional Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to adapt designs based on feedback and practical constraints.
- Passion for Sustainability: An interest in sustainable design practices and materials will be considered a plus.
