Position Overview
Wisdomwood High is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Learning Facilitator – Art who is passionate about nurturing creativity in students and integrating artistic expression across the curriculum. The ideal candidate will bring strong artistic expertise, high energy, and a collaborative mindset, working closely with teachers, students, and staff to create meaningful artistic experiences within and beyond the classroom.
This role involves facilitating engaging art sessions, supporting art integration in academic subjects, contributing to thematic planning, and playing an active role in the conceptualization and execution of school events, exhibitions, and creative projects.
Key Responsibilities
Art Facilitation and Student Engagement
- Facilitate engaging and developmentally appropriate art sessions that encourage creativity, experimentation, and self-expression.
- Introduce students to a variety of artistic mediums and techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, craft, and mixed media.
- Encourage students to explore artistic ideas while building confidence, imagination, and creative thinking.
Art Integration in Academics
- Collaborate with subject teachers to integrate art into academic learning through art-integrated projects and activities.
- Support interdisciplinary learning by helping design creative learning experiences that connect art with subjects such as language, social science, and science.
- Contribute ideas and resources for creative classroom engagement.
Thematic Planning and School Projects
- Work closely with the academic team to support thematic planning, visual storytelling, and project-based learning.
- Contribute to the design and execution of school displays, installations, and creative learning environments.
- Assist in planning and executing exhibitions, showcases, and student art displays.
Events and Community Engagement
- Actively contribute to the planning and creative direction of school events, celebrations, and cultural programs.
- Support students in preparing creative work for school exhibitions, competitions, and performances.
- Collaborate with staff to bring creativity into school-wide initiatives.
Collaboration and Culture Building
- Work closely with teachers and leadership to foster a culture that values creativity and artistic expression.
- Contribute positively to the school’s collaborative and energetic environment.
- Encourage student participation, teamwork, and creative exploration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Visual Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (MFA) or Art Education will be an added advantage.
- Formal training in visual arts, design, or related creative disciplines is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in teaching art, facilitating creative programs, or working with children in an educational setting.
- Experience in art-integrated learning, project-based learning, or creative facilitation will be an advantage.
