Calix is seeking a Platform Administrator & L&OD Coordinator who is responsible for the day-to-day administration, stability, and effective use of Calix’s Learning Management System (LMS), Cornerstone (Calix Learning Academy). This role ensures that learning programs, certifications, onboarding, and enterprise initiatives are delivered through a reliable, intuitive, and well governed LMS experience.
In this role, you will partner closely with Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD), Internal Enablement (teams focused on employee and role-based readiness), and business stakeholders to translate learning goals into effective system configurations. You will serve as the primary LMS subject matter expert, to act as a strategic partner focused on maximizing platform adoption, improving learner experience (UX), and enabling scalable learning delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Administer Cornerstone (Calix Learning Academy) day-to-day, including global settings, user roles, permissions, catalogs, navigation, and overall platform health.
- Own the ongoing optimization of the LMS by staying current on Cornerstone releases, evaluating new functionality, and recommending enhancements that improve system performance and learner experience
- Act as the primary liaison with Cornerstone, managing vendor support, escalations, feature awareness, and advocacy for Calix business needs
- Manage user provisioning, access control, and content governance to ensure appropriate visibility, strong content hygiene, and a well‑maintained learning catalog
- Partner with L&OD, Enablement, and business stakeholders to support learning programs, certifications, and enterprise initiatives, ensuring content remains current, searchable, and effectively structured
- Configure and optimize LMS pages, widgets, layouts, learning plans, curricula, and learning paths to reduce friction and improve usability
- Create, maintain, and deliver dashboards and reports that track engagement, completion, certification status, and usage; summarize insights and recommend practical improvements.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of generative AI and emerging learning technologies within the LMS, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with instructional design best practices
- Provide Tier 2/3 LMS support, including troubleshooting learner access, SCORM issues, course completion, and reporting, and serve as first‑line support for the L&OD shared mailbox
- Administer Harvard Business Review (HBR) leadership subscriptions, including audits, renewals, address updates, and leader communications
- Provide support for new hires during the onboarding process, sending Day 1 messages, answering questions, auditing onboarding completion and sending reminders as needed; updating and enhancing onboarding processes as needed.
Qualifications:
- This role requires at least 2–3 hours of overlap with North America teams + Cornerstone, 2–3 times per week
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Comfortable collaborating with global stakeholders across time zones
- Experience administering an LMS (Cornerstone preferred) including roles/permissions, catalogs, assignments, and basic governance practices
- Working knowledge of eLearning standards and troubleshooting (e.g., SCORM), course completion logic, and common LMS integration concepts.
- Foundational understanding of generative AI concepts and their application in learning platforms; ability to evaluate AI‑enabled LMS features against security, data privacy, and instructional design standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments, managing competing priorities and shifting business needs
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical or platform‑related issues into clear, business‑friendly explanations for non‑technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building alignment with regional leads and cross‑functional partners
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess training options, interpret post‑course survey data, and use platform insights to drive continuous improvement.
