Our teams operate from multiple global delivery centers, supporting Zurich’s business units worldwide.
As a Test Lead, you’ll shape end-to-end QA delivery, guide skilled teams, collaborate with international stakeholders, and ensure our solutions meet the highest standards.

A Test Lead/Manager is responsible to deliver and manage testing and quality activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that the testing and quality activities are carried out to the agreed standards and that they comply with Audit and Regulatory standards. You will support internal initiative and actively participate during its conceptualization phase to implementation, advice IT and business on best QA and Testing practices that protect Zurich’s best interests. And define the testing approach and strategy, planning and estimation of testing effort and the leadership and control of the subsequent testing execution. Your role As a Test Lead you will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of your assigned projects.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
Your Skills and Experience:
- Full Testing Services provided by empowered Zurich Staff and partners with accountability in delivery & services of Quality Assurance
- Provide Quality and Testing services to Zurich business units and Group Functions
- Define Test Strategy for projects
- Manage testing activities within project(s)
- Support strategic and tactical initiatives
- Collaborate with global teams on strategy updates, planning, and investment prioritization
- Manage key stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor
- Ensure project compliance
- Take overall accountability for project test delivery plan (Static Testing, SIT, UAT). Ensure that all leads are delivering to agreed plan and managing team productivity.
- Work closely with leads to understand and resolve any concerns before they escalate into issues.
- Review and approve all major testing deliverables.
- Provide up to date data, status and judgment on project.
- Identify and allocate resources.
- Review estimates and assumptions to ensure that they still hold true and reforecast as often as appropriate.
- Ensure Stakeholders have up to date information on the project status at all times. Ensure that standard processes and deliverables are followed and that any deviations are managed and the risks and potential outcome of those risks communicated and accepted.
- Work with other Test Managers to ensure sharing of experiences, best practices and lessons learnt.
- Ensure that senior management is informed about issues before they escalate, and can intervene as appropriate.
- Ensure regular reporting procedures, both formal and informal, are used.
- Apply Quality techniques and processes throughout the testing delivery lifecycle.
- Resolve issues for all lower levels.
- Provide guidance on policy, national and international quality standards.
- Prepare staffing plans, which may include staff working both on site and remotely.
- Manage customer and vendor relationships.
- Uphold Zurich Standard processes and practices
As a Test Lead your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Needs strong knowledge of QA & Testing Practices and understanding of quality management and development methodologies (SDLC) is highly valuated
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology and 3 or more years of experience in related field such a Test Manager or similar
- At least 3/5 years in financial services industry.
- Experience of quality and testing technology.
- Experience of business transformation.
- Experience in leading high technological skilled teams
- Must have leadership experience providing services for multiple business units
- ITSQB Quality and Test Manager or similar
- Good knowledge of databases, middleware, web services and related standards
- Experience with IT Governance
- Positive attitude, strong communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills
- Team player and able to create and work in a collaborative environment
- Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels, including teams outside of shared services and solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor for the customer by having a holistic view of the different alternatives that would provide a solution to the customer/s
- Ability to discuss technical topics in business terms, including but not limited to give presentations to an audience with different level of technological maturity
- Ability to think outside of the box and be innovative by keeping abreast of new trends, identifying opportunities to bring in change for business benefit
- Fluent written and spoken English (additionally, German would be highly valuable)
- Global, critical, innovative thinking with good presentation skills
- Stakeholder influencing and technology governance
