About the Role
Anoud Technologies is looking for a hands-on Technical Lead /Architect – Java to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable applications. This is not an Enterprise-level Architect role — we are looking for a strong, hands-on technologist who can code, build Proof of Concepts (POCs), mentor a team, and actively contribute to solutioning at the project/product level, while working closely with senior architects and business stakeholders on the broader enterprise architecture. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives on solving real problems through rapid prototyping and clean, scalable code, rather than someone focused purely on high-level enterprise architecture documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical delivery of Java-based applications, from design through deployment.
- Build Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate new technologies, patterns, and solution approaches before full-scale implementation.
- Drive and support the migration of legacy monolithic systems to microservices-based architecture.
- Identify the right use cases and fit points for microservices — evaluate where a microservices approach adds real value versus where a monolith is sufficient.
- Identify appropriate use cases for Apache Kafka — determine where event-driven / messaging architecture should be introduced in the system landscape.
- Own hands-on coding, code reviews, and bug fixing, while working within the broader enterprise architecture guidelines set by senior/enterprise architects.
- Define and contribute to the technical roadmap for products/platforms in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Guide and mentor development teams on best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Business Analysts, Product Owners) to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Participate in technical discussions, estimations, and solution design sessions.
Technical Skills Required
Core Language
- Strong hands-on experience in Java
- Java 21 – basic working knowledge of newer language features (records, pattern matching, virtual threads, etc.) is expected
Frameworks
- Spring Framework – solid understanding of layered architecture and modules (Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, etc.)
Architecture & Design
- Practical understanding of Microservices architecture — knowing when and where to apply it (not just theoretical knowledge)
- Experience with monolithic to microservices migration for legacy systems
Messaging & Streaming
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka and use-case identification for messaging/event-driven architecture
- Exposure to Message Queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ or similar)
Database
- Strong experience with Oracle DB as the backend database
- Understanding of DB integration with messaging queues
Caching
- Hands-on experience with Redis for caching implementation
DevOps / Tools
- Proficiency with Git for source control and branching strategies
- Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline setup and management
Good to Have
- Basic knowledge of AI (AI-assisted development tools, LLM integration basics, or applied AI concepts) is an added advantage
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previously held a Technical Lead / Senior Lead Developer designation and is now ready to step into a Technical Architect – Java role OR has equivalent hands-on architecture-level experience.
- Strong balance of coding ability + solution design — this is a hands-on builder/architect role, not a pure Enterprise Architect role.
- Comfortable working on POCs and rapid prototyping to validate ideas.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture concepts, but primary focus remains on hands-on technical leadership.
- Experience driving legacy modernization initiatives (monolith → microservices).
- A go-getter attitude — proactive, ownership-driven, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–13 years of relevant experience in Java application development, with proven experience in technical/solution architecture.
