Job Description Summary:
This Lead System Engineer role is a technical lead position for 5G Mobility Core + security + new technology introduction (NTI). It blends:
- Tier-3 outage leadership (real-time restoration, directing vendors/Operations resources)
- Security validation and audit readiness (controls, hardening, risk mitigation)
- Platform certification / regression testing for major vendors (Ericsson/HPE/Cisco/AMDOCS)
- Certify MOPs and operationalization (handoff to implementation/ops teams)
- RCA and problem management (trend analysis, chronic issue elimination)
- On-call expectations (24x7 escalation)
Core competency areas:
- Mobility Core Architecture Expertise
- EPC (MME/SGW/PGW), 5G Core (AMF/SMF/UPF/UDM/AUSF/PCF) and service-based architecture concepts
- Call/service flows, signaling, bearer/session management, roaming/interconnect impacts
- Security Audits & Mitigation in Core Networks
- Security control validation: secure configs, access controls, segmentation, key/cert management
- Policy & Profile / Subscriber Management Services
- AON / Azure Operator Nexus experience preferred
- 3+ years Kubernetes
- Experience designing, implementing and/or troubleshooting Mobility Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and associated service flow
