Job Profile: Lead System Engineer - Open Stack
Location: Bangalore
Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid
Preferred experience: 10-12 years
The Role
This role involves managing and maintaining OpenStack and OpenShift cloud infrastructure, including Linux servers, virtualization, and system patching. The engineer will handle RedHat administration and ensure smooth functioning of control and compute environments. It combines cloud operations, Linux administration, and automation within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
· Manage and perform hands-on operations on OpenStack and OpenShift Infrastructure
· Handle RHOSO control and compute plane, KVM, Linux Virtualization, and RedHat administration
· Perform OS patching and lifecycle management of Linux servers
· Responsible for understanding the requirements and automate Cloud native Linux workloads with Infrastructure as a Code approach, automate configuration using Ansible and Python for OpenStack/OpenShift Infrastructure.
· Automate configuration management using Ansible and Python for OpenStack/OpenShift environments
· Follow industry best practices through continuous learning and mentorship
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of tasks and projects.
Must Have skills
· 8–12 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in large-scale Linux cloud-native and distributed infrastructure
· Strong experience in Linux server patching and rebuilding
· Hands-on experience with Ansible and Python automation
· Experience in cloud automation (OpenShift, OpenStack, or RedHat OpenStack on OpenShift
preferred)
- Expertise in: OpenShift & OpenStack, RedHat OS & Linux Administration, Linux Command Line, KVM & Virtualization, Git, Basic L2 Networking, CI/CD pipelines, HPE & Dell Server Hardware, IPMI.
