Job details:
Senior AI Engineer - Full-Stack & Agentic Systems
Location: Remote Type: Full-time Experience: 4+ years
Not looking for someone who wants “just another AI role".
- We want a builder.
- A hustler.
- Someone who ships.
At The Job Workshop, we’re evolving from a career brand into an AI-native career-tech SaaS company — building agentic systems, intelligent workflows, and products that actually change how professionals get hired.
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and operate end-to-end AI-native products. You will own the full vertical slice - from the frontend UI to the backend services to the LLM orchestration layer to the infrastructure it all runs on. This is a builder role for someone who ships code, makes architectural decisions, and operates what they build.
What you'll do
• Design and build AI-powered features end-to-end: frontend, backend, data, models, and infrastructure
• Build and operate agentic AI systems - LLMs that observe, decide, act, and adapt - using modern agent frameworks (LangGraph, browser-use, Stagehand, or equivalent)
• Implement retrieval pipelines (RAG) with vector databases, embedding models, and re-ranking strategies
• Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or self-hosted) into production with attention to cost, latency, and reliability
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from third-party APIs and web sources
• Deploy and operate services on both cloud (AWS / GCP / Azure) and on-premises / private-cloud environments
• Own observability, on-call, and incident response for the systems you build
• Make trade-off decisions on architecture, model selection, and build-vs-buy
What you bring
• 4+ years of production software engineering experience, with significant hands-on time in the last two years on AI/LLM systems
• Strong Python (FastAPI or equivalent async framework using Node JS, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic)
• Strong frontend skills (React or equivalent) - you can build a usable UI, not just an API
• Production experience with PostgreSQL, including indexing and query optimisation
• Production experience with vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate, or similar) and vector indexing for semantic search, ANN.
• Production experience integrating LLMs via API, including structured-output / tool-use patterns
• Production experience with at least one agentic AI framework
• Production experience with browser automation (Playwright or Puppeteer)
• Hands-on experience deploying to a major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containers and managed databases
• Comfort with Linux, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
Strongly preferred
• Self-hosted LLM serving (vLLM, TGI, llama.cpp) and on-premises Kubernetes (K3s / K8s)
• Workflow orchestration tools (LangGraph, Temporal, Dagster, Airflow)
• Document parsing and OCR pipelines (PyMuPDF, Tesseract, AWS Textract, or similar)
• Observability stack experience (Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
• Proficient with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot,OpenClaw) and "vibe coding" workflows - comfortable delegating substantial chunks of work to AI agents and reviewing the output critically
• Open-source contributions in the AI/agentic space
