About The Role
The Lead Security Engineer at Asian Hires will serve as a pivotal member of our client's cybersecurity team, responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise security controls across hybrid environments. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of IT and collaborating closely with the Sr. Director of Infrastructure & Security, this role demands a seasoned professional capable of providing technical leadership and strategic guidance. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in cybersecurity architecture, threat detection, identity security, and compliance frameworks, with a proven track record of managing complex security initiatives in dynamic environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence the company's security posture, advance its Zero Trust strategy, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, NIST, and ISO 27001.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field is required; however, equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CISSP, PCNSE, or cloud security specialties are highly desirable. Candidates should have extensive experience working with hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, particularly in securing Azure and AWS platforms. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as SOC 2, NIST, and ISO 27001 is essential. Strong technical skills in network security, cloud security, identity management, and security automation are mandatory, along with excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Responsibilities
Security Architecture & Engineering: Lead the design and deployment of comprehensive security architectures across on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure and AWS. Develop secure configurations, IAM policies, network controls, and leverage native security tools to enhance the organization's security posture. Optimize network infrastructure such as firewalls and switches to enforce least-privilege access principles.
Threat Detection, Monitoring & Response: Oversee the management of Microsoft NDR/XDR platforms, ensuring effective alerting, tuning, and response workflows. Manage SIEM operations, including rule creation, dashboard management, and incident triage, to facilitate rapid detection and mitigation of security threats. Serve as a senior escalation point for complex security incidents, guiding response efforts and root cause analysis.
Identity, Access & Zero Trust: Architect and implement secure identity management strategies utilizing Microsoft Entra ID. Govern multi-factor authentication (MFA), SAML, OIDC, RBAC, and Zero Trust policies to safeguard organizational assets and data.
Email Security & User Protection: Manage email security protocols such as DMARC, SPF, and DKIM enforcement. Lead initiatives for email threat detection, phishing simulations, and user awareness programs to reduce organizational risk.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management: Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and playbooks aligned with industry standards. Lead SOC 2 audits, collect evidence, and oversee remediation efforts. Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk reviews, and ensure continuous improvement of security controls.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Supervise and mentor a team of security engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, and Application Development teams to embed security considerations into system design and operational processes. Present security posture reports and risk assessments to executive leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
