Our client is looking for a Lead QA Automation/SDET Engineer to drive quality strategy and automation for data-intensive products. The ideal candidate should have experience testing dashboards, validating large datasets using SQL, automating UI and API tests, and working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, while mentoring QA engineers and collaborating with engineering, product, and data teams.
Note: Please apply only if you have hands-on experience in data validation using advanced SQL, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and aggregations, along with business logic validation, source-to-target data validation, and ETL/ELT testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automation frameworks for UI, API, and data validation testing.
- Define and drive the overall QA automation strategy and testing best practices.
- Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Validate data accuracy across dashboards, reports, APIs, and databases.
- Write complex SQL queries to verify business logic, calculations, aggregations, and data transformations.
- Perform database validation using Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Test data pipelines and ensure consistency between source systems and reporting layers.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to develop comprehensive test strategies.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and improve release quality.
- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot defects, and drive continuous quality improvements.
- Mentor QA engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote automation best practices across the team.
- Define and track QA metrics, test coverage, and quality KPIs.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles, with 2+ years in a technical lead or senior SDET capacity.
- Experience testing data-intensive, analytics, BI, or dashboard-based applications.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation validation.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Strong SQL skills with extensive experience in data validation and database testing.
- Experience validating data in Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of regression, integration, end-to-end, and data validation testing.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience mentoring QA engineers and leading automation initiatives.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience testing AI, Analytics, FinOps, SaaS, or other data-driven platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Experience building QA dashboards, defining quality metrics, and driving test automation maturity across engineering teams.
