Role Purpose
The Registrations & Licensing Lead will be responsible for developing and executing Inera's product registration strategy across its portfolio of biofertilisers, biostimulants and biocontrol products. The role will own end-to-end product registrations and documentation, manufacturing and sales licenses, statutory compliance and interactions with state authorities to ensure timely commercialization and uninterrupted business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Product Registrations
- Prepare and submit registration dossiers to Central and State regulatory authorities.
- Manage registration renewals, amendments, label updates and product variations
- Respond to regulatory queries, deficiency letters and technical clarifications.
- Maintain state specific registration timelines and ensure products are commercialized without registration delays.
Licensing & Statutory Compliance
- Obtain and maintain all statutory licenses required for manufacturing, marketing, distribution and sale of biological and other agricultural products.
- Coordinate applications, renewals and amendments for manufacturing licenses, sale licenses and other statutory approvals.
- Liaise with State Agriculture Departments, Fertiliser Controllers, Insecticide authorities and other registration agencies.
- Ensure continuous compliance with applicable Acts, Rules and notifications governing biological agricultural inputs.
- Support regulatory inspections and facilitate closure of observations.
- Partner with B2B channels and execute licensing & endorsements in states where the organization will operate through a dedicated partner.
Regulatory Documentation
- Prepare and maintain complete technical dossiers for all products.
Label & Claims Compliance
- Review product labels, packaging artwork, technical literature and promotional claims.
- Ensure all product claims and statutory declarations comply with regulatory/registration requirements.
- Partner with Marketing and Portfolio teams to ensure compliant product communication.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Commercial and Portfolio teams to ensure regulatory readiness throughout the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers to obtain regulatory documentation and manufacturing compliance records.
- Manage external regulatory consultants, testing laboratories and certification agencies where required.
Regulatory Intelligence
- Assess the business impact of regulatory changes and recommend appropriate actions.
- Develop internal SOPs and regulatory best practices to improve submission quality and approval timelines.
What We Are Looking For
- Master's degree in Agriculture, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
- 8-12 years of experience in Registration and Documentation within the agricultural biologicals industry. Exposure to Regulatory would be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience handling registrations of biofertilisers, biostimulants and biocontrol products in India. Exposure to registration of agrochemicals is desirable.
- Proven experience obtaining and maintaining manufacturing licenses, sale licenses and other statutory approvals for agricultural and biological products.
- Strong understanding of Indian Registration & Documentation frameworks governing biological agricultural inputs.
- Experience preparing technical dossiers and managing interactions with State regulatory authorities.
- Strong project management, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain state-wise liaison connects to ensure quick product endorsements
- Flexibility to move and reach out to state departments for QC issues and sampling
