Lead R&D Engineer | UAV Systems
Experience: 5–12 Years
Location: Bangalore/Onsite
The Mission
As the Lead R&D Engineer, you won’t just manage—you will architect, prototype, and break things to find the limit of what’s possible. You will own the transition from "napkin sketch" to flight-ready deployment, optimizing every gram of weight and every watt of power.
Core Responsibilities
- System Ownership: Lead end-to-end R&D sub-projects across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Performance Optimization: Aggressively improve payload-to-weight ratios, aerodynamic efficiency, and structural reliability.
- Rapid Prototyping: Own the full cycle: Ideation → CAD/Simulation → Fabrication → Flight Validation.
- Engineering Rigor: Establish testing protocols, conduct FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and drive deep-dive design reviews.
- Team Mentorship: Lead and scale a high-performance engineering team through structured R&D workflows.
Technical Requirements
- Domain Expertise: Mastery in at least one core area: Lightweight Composites/Mechanisms, Avionics/Power Systems, or Flight Control Algorithms.
- Systems Integration: Proven ability to bridge the gap between hardware and software.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks/NX) and Simulation (ANSYS/MATLAB/Simulink).
- DFM & Reliability: Experience in Design for Manufacturability and rigorous environmental testing (thermal, vibration, endurance).
