Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join our client
facing team in a hybrid role that balances manual testing expertise with automation
development. This position requires 50% manual testing activities and 50% automation
framework development, with a primary focus on Playwright for test automation. The
ideal candidate will have strong testing fundamentals and hands-on experience building
and maintaining automated test suites.
Key Responsibilities
A. Manual Testing (50%)
● Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases in Azure DevOps
● Create and manage test suites, test cases, and test configurations within Azure DevOps Test Plans
● Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
● Conduct black box testing to validate user-facing functionality and user experience
● Execute white box testing to verify internal code logic and system behavior
● Identify, document, and track defects through resolution in Azure DevOps
● Link test cases to user stories, requirements, and bugs for full traceability
● Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
● Participate in sprint planning, grooming sessions, and daily standups
● Perform smoke and sanity testing for release validation
● Generate test execution reports and quality metrics from Azure DevOps
B. Automation Testing (50%)
● Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright
● Build and enhance test automation frameworks for web applications
● Create automated API tests using Postman/Newman
● Maintain existing Selenium-based test suites and migrate tests to Playwright where appropriate
● Integrate automated tests with Azure DevOps Pipelines for CI/CD execution
● Develop reusable test components and utilities
● Review and optimize test execution time and reliability
● Generate automated test reports and metrics
● Publish test results to Azure DevOps Test Plans
Required Qualifications
● 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance
● Hands-on experience with Manual Web application testing.
● Hands-on experience with Playwright for web automation
● Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, with equivalent real-world experience.
● Strong experience with Azure DevOps for test case management, test planning, and test execution
● Proven ability to create, organize, and maintain test cases in Azure DevOps Test Plans
● Strong understanding of both black box and white box testing methodologies
● Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver
● Experience with API testing and automation using Postman
● Solid understanding of software testing lifecycle and methodologies (Agile/Scrum)
● Experience with defect tracking and linking test artifacts to work items in Azure DevOps
● Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#)
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Excellent communication and documentation skills

● Experience in FinTech services
● Working in Agile Teams
● Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines for CI/CD automation
● Experience configuring and customizing Azure DevOps test configurations and parameters
● Knowledge of performance and load testing tools
● Familiarity with SQL and database testing
● Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing
● Understanding of accessibility testing (WCAG standards). Experience with mobile testing (web and native). ISTQB certification or equivalent
