The Lead Python Developer – Test Automation will play a critical role in designing, building, and leading automation solutions for large‑scale broadband and connectivity platforms at Infosys. This role requires 8–10 years of experience in Python‑based automation, strong hands‑on expertise in networking protocols and Cable Modem technologies, and the ability to provide technical leadership across embedded and firmware‑level validation. The candidate will drive automation strategy, perform deep debugging and root‑cause analysis, and collaborate closely with platform and development teams to deliver carrier‑grade broadband solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python‑based test automation frameworks for broadband and connectivity platforms.
- Lead and drive automation strategy across system, integration, regression, and firmware‑level testing.
- Provide technical leadership, including task planning, code reviews, mentoring, and best‑practice enforcement.
- Perform embedded, firmware, and system‑level testing for broadband and Cable Modem platforms.
- Conduct deep debugging and root‑cause analysis across software, firmware, and networking layers.
- Validate networking behavior using protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and related broadband protocols.
- Collaborate closely with platform, firmware, and development teams to improve testability and automation coverage.
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster delivery cycles.
- Ensure high quality, stability, and performance of carrier‑grade broadband systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of overall experience in software development and test automation.
- Strong expertise in Python development, following scalable, modular, and maintainable coding practices.
- Proven experience leading Python‑based automation frameworks in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and packet‑based communication.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Cable Modem technologies and broadband systems.
- Experience working in embedded, firmware, or system‑level testing environments.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional global teams.
Desired Skills:
- Strong experience with RDK‑B (Reference Design Kit – Broadband).
- Hands‑on exposure to OpenWRT.
- Familiarity with Purple OS.
- Experience working in Embedded Linux environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
- Exposure to broadband CPE devices, gateways, and large‑scale connectivity platforms.
