Role Purpose
To drive end-to-end project development for renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on land acquisition, connectivity, and early-stage project execution, ensuring alignment with ENGIE India’s growth strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / management / related field
- 15 years or plus of experience in renewable energy project development
- Strong experience in:
- Land acquisition
- Connectivity approvals
- End-to-end project development
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Land acquisition processes and laws
- Connectivity regulations (CTU/STU)
- Renewable project lifecycle (solar/wind/hybrid)
- Experience across states such as:
- Rajasthan
- Gujarat
- Madhya Pradesh
- Karnataka
- Tamil Nadu

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Development & Deal Execution
- Contribute to renewable growth objectives for ENGIE India
- Identify and evaluate acquisition and joint development opportunities
- Lead project development from inception to construction-ready stage
- Support commercial activities including:
- Project acquisition agreements
- Co-development partnerships
- Lead negotiations with developers and partners
- Conduct and manage technical, financial, and legal due diligence with advisors
2. Grid Connectivity Strategy & Execution
- Identify and secure grid connectivity in target states aligned with business plans
- Coordinate with BD and land teams for connectivity planning
- Apply for and obtain connectivity approvals (CTU/STU)
- Evaluate and acquire ready-to-build projects with connectivity
- Track and manage connectivity pipeline and approvals
3. Land Acquisition & Development
- Identify land parcels for:
- Solar
- Wind / Hybrid
- BESS projects
- Drive both:
- Greenfield development
- Acquisition of pre-developed portfolios
- Appoint and manage land aggregators as per company policies
- Secure:
- Land rights
- Lease agreements
- Permits and approvals
4. Due Diligence & Compliance
- Conduct land due diligence through legal advisors
- Perform ethics checks on landowners and aggregators
- Ensure compliance with local land laws and regulatory frameworks
- Finalize land agreements in line with legal and company standards
5. Stakeholder & Community Management
- Manage relationships with:
- Local communities
- Landowners
- Government authorities
- Resolve on-ground issues in coordination with internal teams
- Ensure smooth execution with minimal disruptions
