Shell Recharge Solutions is a leader in delivering the new electric mobility future through innovative software, infrastructure, and professional services that empower utilities, cities, fleets, transit agencies, and automakers to deploy EV charging infrastructure at scale. Our technology is connecting EV infrastructure solutions with public and private charging needs in a safer, cleaner, and smarter way. Headquartered in India, the company’s global footprint spans across three continents with deployments in 13 different countries.
With a team of up to 200 professionals in India, we serve as the operational backbone for one of the world’s most advanced EV charging networks — driving decarbonization, digitalization, and mobility at scale.
Shell and its portfolio company, Shell Recharge Solutions, operate over 70,000 charge points globally. We are committed to building and operating a cutting-edge, end-to-end E-Mobility technology platform, encompassing critical CPO and MSP digital capabilities. Our business goals include a 4x increase in EV margins by 2030, improved ROACE, and industry-leading efficiency and resilience. The software platforms led by the CPO will be central to achieving these ambitions.
At Shell Recharge Solutions, we are looking for candidates who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves — passionate, purpose-driven individuals who believe having a career means making a meaningful impact on our business and the world. We believe in creating and ‘doing the right thing’ through responsible and sustainable EV deployment. We are looking for the innovative, driven to find a solution in a complex and dynamically evolving marketplace and look at “no” as just a challenge to find the next “yes”.
Lead Product Manager- Bangalore
Why this role matters
Auto-OEM partnerships are a critical differentiator for Shell. They stand on the back of decades of trusted relationships across mobility — fuel, lubricants, fleet, and now electrons. As the global auto industry electrifies, OEMs are choosing a small set of mobility partners to power the in-vehicle and in-app charging experience for their drivers. Winning that seat, and keeping it, is one of the most defensible moats Shell has in e-mobility. It is established for scale, and it is established to win.
This role owns the product relationship with those OEM customers. The Senior Manager, Product — Auto-OEM Partnerships will be the face of Shell Recharge product to some of the largest automotive EV brands in the world e.g., BMW, JLR, BYD, translating their commercial ambitions into a roadmap that our e-MSP and vMSP platforms can deliver — on time, at quality, at global scale.
This is a high-visibility, individual-contributor role today. It is positioned to evolve into team leadership as the OEM portfolio grows.
Role Overview
You will own the end-to-end product engagement with assigned Auto-OEM customers who consume Shell Recharge’s vMSP (vehicle-integrated Mobility Service Provider) services. You will be the senior product voice in the room — with OEM product, engineering, digital and brand leaders on one side, and with Shell’s internal engineering, platform, design, commercial and operations teams on the other.
Success in this role looks like: OEM customers who are demonstrably more successful because of Shell’s platform, internal teams who feel protected and clear on priorities, and a roadmap that scales across markets without fragmenting the platform.
The role reports to the Head of Product, SRS.
What You’ll Do
- Own the product relationship with assigned Auto-OEM customers across multiple global markets — typically Europe, North America and APAC — as their single senior product point of contact.
- Set and manage expectations with senior OEM stakeholders (Heads of Product, Head of Sales, Marketing, E-mobility market GMs, etc.), translating their commercial and brand ambitions into a clear, sequenced product roadmap.
- Run the joint product governance with each OEM — quarterly business reviews, roadmap reviews, escalation forums — and own the narrative, the deck, and the commitments.
- Protect engineering, design and platform teams from unmanaged demand. Say a credible “not yet” where needed; sequence work so that what is committed is delivered to a high bar.
- Translate OEM-specific needs into platform-friendly requirements. Push back on bespoke work that doesn’t generalise; champion bespoke work where it genuinely differentiates.
- Partner deeply with engineering on architecture choices that matter for OEM integrations — vehicle-side telematics and connectivity, in-vehicle HMI, OEM apps, plug & charge (ISO 15118), OCPI roaming, identity, payments, and the e-MSP back-end.
- Own discovery, definition and delivery of OEM-facing product capabilities: in-vehicle charging experience, OEM-branded driver apps, account & payment flows, charging plans, roaming coverage, customer support tooling, and reporting.
- Convert business requirements into clear high quality user stories, lead engineering grooming sessions, partner with QA to define the right functional and performance testing parameters, be the UAT sign off party from Shell while ensuring a clear signoff from the partners, and track value delivery from the product.
- Be the commercial-aware product partner to the Auto-OEM account, BD and commercial teams. Support contract scoping, SoWs, change requests, and pricing discussions where product is involved.
- Define and track the metrics that matter — coverage, successful session rate, time-to-charge, NPS / CSAT for OEM drivers, cost-to-serve, and OEM-specific commercial KPIs — and use them to drive the roadmap.
- Represent Shell Recharge to OEM customers and at industry forums; bring market intelligence from OEM conversations back into the platform roadmap.
- Build and lead the team over time. The role starts as an individual contributor and is expected to grow into a small team of OEM-aligned product managers as the portfolio expands.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- 10–15 years of product management experience, with significant experience in Auto-OEM e-mobility products — in-vehicle charging experience, OEM charging apps, OEM-branded e-MSP services, vMSP, plug & charge, or directly comparable.
- Preferably demonstrable experience owning product for multiple global markets (at least two of: Europe, North America, APAC), including the regulatory, payments, roaming and language/UX implications that come with each.
- A strong track record of managing senior external stakeholders — Director / VP level at OEMs or equivalent enterprise customers — through pressure, ambiguity, and competing demands.
- The maturity to absorb pressure from large customers, hold the line on what is realistic, and protect internal teams while still being seen by the customer as a credible partner who is moving things forward.
- A strong product foundation: discovery, prioritisation, PRDs, working with engineering, design, release management, measuring outcomes. This is a senior product hire with hands on and end to end execution from requirements, prioritization to user stories, grooming and delivery.
- Technical fluency to engage credibly with engineering on integrations, APIs, identity, payments, charging protocols and vehicle-side concerns. You do not need to write code; you do need to be a peer in those conversations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. The role is high-visibility internally and externally; clarity is non-negotiable.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field a plus.
Strongly preferred
- Direct experience working with or inside an automotive OEM (product, digital, connected car, or charging team).
- Working knowledge of OCPI, OCPP, ISO 15118 (plug & charge), and the e-MSP / CPO ecosystem.
- Experience with vehicle-integrated experiences — in-vehicle HMI, OEM mobile apps, account linking, and identity across vehicle and app.
- Experience operating in a matrixed, multi-country product organisation.
- MBA or advanced technical/business degree.
What sets this role apart
Auto-OEM partnerships are not a side bet at Shell. They are one of the differentiating moats the business is built on — the kind of relationships that take years to earn and that competitors cannot replicate quickly. This role sits at the centre of that moat.
The person in this seat will be visible to Shell leadership, will be in the room with OEM senior leadership, and will directly shape how millions of drivers experience charging through the brands they already trust. It is one of the higher-leverage product roles in e-mobility today.
