Job details:
Adella is hiring a Lead Product Designer for a 12-week project: build the design system, suite shell and shared components for 46 B2B SaaS apps. This is for designers of data-dense decision screens, not websites, landing pages or brand work.
About Adella
Adella is a US software company. Our product is business intelligence that acts: 46 marketing and business apps in five families (advertising, profit and measurement, ecommerce, strategy and creative, sales and relationships), all on one platform with one login. Our users are business owners, marketing teams and agencies who spend on Google, Meta, Amazon and Shopify. Every night the product reads their connected accounts and each morning tells them what is costing money and what to change. We build with AI coding agents, one lane per app, under our CTO.
Why this project matters
Every app has a detailed engineering spec. The interaction model is set: each app opens on ranked findings, each finding proposes one action, and a named person approves it. What does not exist yet is the design: how the suite looks, how it feels, and the shared components every app is built from. This project defines that for all 46 apps.
The project
Phase 1 (about 12 weeks, fixed fee paid by milestone):
- Set the visual direction and build the token system in Figma variables.
- Design the six shared components that make up most of every app: finding card, evidence panel, approval control, state strip, digest, and empty, error and stale states.
- Design the suite shell: navigation across 46 apps, account and settings, the suite-wide Today view and notifications.
- Write annotated, state-complete specs that our AI coding agents build from without guessing, and review the coded components with our engineer in Storybook.
- Run a usability test with real users and act on the results.
Phase 2, offered if Phase 1 meets the bar: design our first six apps end to end (Paid Media, Margin, Attribution, Strategist, Creative Lab and Social), priced per app.
After either phase, we may offer a full-time Lead Product Designer role leading the designers who follow.
What you bring
- 7+ years in product design, including 2+ years leading design for a shipped B2B SaaS product with daily users.
- A portfolio of complex, data-dense screens in ad tech, martech, analytics, fintech, observability, ERP, developer tools or similar.
- Experience designing recommendation, alerting, approval or workflow products where the user acts, not only reads charts.
- A design system you built and maintained that engineers used: Figma variables and tokens, component properties, documentation, and a coded version.
- Every state designed: loading, empty, error, permission denied, stale data, long content.
- Working accessibility skill to WCAG 2.2 AA: contrast, focus order, keyboard use, screen readers, never color alone.
- Clear written English. You write specs and rationale, not only frames.
- Hands-on use of AI tools such as Figma Make, v0, Claude or Cursor.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Shopify admin, GA4 or Klaviyo.
- Experience designing AI features: confidence, explanations, marking AI-written text.
- Multi-tenant or agency products, where one user manages many client accounts.
- Front-end skills (HTML, CSS, React).
How we work
Remote from anywhere in India, full-time effort for the project, with at least three hours a day of overlap with US Central time (about 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST). Direct access to the founder and CTO. A competitive fixed project fee, paid as each of four milestones is approved.
The process
- Portfolio review.
- Portfolio walk-through (45 minutes).
- Paid take-home (4 to 6 hours).
- Take-home review and live critique (60 minutes).
- Final conversation with the CTO and founder.
