This is not a conventional product management position centered on feedback cycles or gradual feature releases. This is an executive-level technical product ownership role, where you will own the system architecture, technical direction, and AI implementation across our entire learning ecosystem. You'll make critical technical trade-offs to keep our products lean, scalable, and relentlessly centered on student outcomes. You will approach challenges with the mindset of a CTO while maintaining the velocity of a product entrepreneur, fusing engineering rigor with learning science to drive continuous innovation.

What You Will Be Doing
- Cultivating and applying deep education product expertise to inform strategic decisions
- Creating technical specifications that establish key technical choices and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and long-term sustainability
- Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, supporting the strategic objective of minimizing manual effort
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Pure people management; your technical and business expertise will be the critical focus of this role
- Spending time in meetings, committees, and administrative overhead; we have automated management tasks so you can concentrate on delivering business value through direct contributions
- High-level strategies lacking implementation detail; your guidance must be grounded in product-level understanding
Lead Product Architect Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, owning core capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership
Basic Requirements
- 7+ years of experience making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of architecture design patterns or major open source technologies
- 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery accountability for a revenue-generating product
- Experience leveraging AI agents to design, implement, and test software products or features

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
