Pre-Sales Lead – Cybersecurity Solutions

About the Role
Starlight Data Solutions is looking for an experienced and dynamic Pre-Sales Lead – Cybersecurity Solutions to join our growing cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in driving technical solutioning, customer engagement, proposal management, and sales enablement for enterprise and government customers.
This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, consulting capability, stakeholder management, and business acumen to design scalable and secure cybersecurity architectures aligned with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Solutioning & Technical Consulting
- Understand customer business challenges, security posture, compliance requirements, and technical environments to design tailored cybersecurity solutions.
- Architect and recommend enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions across:
- Network Security
- Endpoint Security
- SIEM/SOAR
- Identity & Access Management (IAM/PAM)
- Cloud Security
- Data Protection & DLP
- Zero Trust Architecture
- Vulnerability Management
- SOC & Managed Security Services
- Prepare High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), solution diagrams, BOQs, and technical documentation.
- Conduct solution assessments, gap analysis, and technical feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with delivery and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically viable and aligned with implementation capabilities.
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
- Support the sales team throughout the complete deal lifecycle, from requirement gathering to proposal submission and deal closure.
- Conduct customer presentations, technical demonstrations, workshops, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and solution walkthroughs.
- Engage with CXOs, IT Heads, Security Leaders, and technical stakeholders to position cybersecurity offerings effectively.
- Lead and manage RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, technical proposals, compliance matrices, and bid documentation.
- Work closely with account managers to identify customer pain points and recommend strategic cybersecurity roadmaps.
- Assist in effort estimation, pricing discussions, and solution positioning for strategic opportunities.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with OEMs, distributors, and technology partners for solution validation, sizing, licensing, and technical support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams including Sales, Delivery, SOC, and Project Management teams.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, regulatory frameworks, and technology trends.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative cybersecurity solutions aligned with market needs.
Leadership & Strategic Initiatives
- Mentor and guide junior pre-sales engineers and technical consultants.
- Support the development of go-to-market (GTM) strategies for cybersecurity offerings and managed security services.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Contribute to capability building, knowledge sharing sessions, and internal technical enablement initiatives.
- Participate in industry events, partner meetings, and cybersecurity forums representing the organization.
Required Skills & ExperienceExperience
- 7–12 years of experience in Cybersecurity Pre-Sales, Security Consulting, or Solution Architecture roles.
- Prior experience handling enterprise and government cybersecurity projects is highly preferred.
Technical Expertise
Strong hands-on or solutioning experience in:
- Network Security (Firewall, IPS/IDS, NAC, VPN)
- Endpoint Security & EDR/XDR
- SIEM/SOAR Platforms
- IAM/PAM Solutions
- Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Zero Trust Security Models
- Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Management

Certifications (Preferred)
- CISSP
- CISM
- CEH
- CCSP
- OEM Certifications (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Microsoft, etc.)
