Position: Lead Power BI Developer

Location: Hyderabad/Bengaluru
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Power BI Developer with strong expertise in data visualization, data engineering, and Azure-based analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end BI initiatives, work closely with stakeholders, and drive best practices in data modeling, reporting, and pipeline development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
- Define and implement best practices for data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) to optimize reporting performance.
- Architect and manage end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using Azure and Databricks.
- Integrate Power BI with Azure Synapse (Dedicated & Serverless SQL Pools) for efficient data access and reporting.
- Utilize Power Query (M language) for data ingestion, transformation, and shaping from multiple data sources including Databricks.
- Develop and optimize data transformation logic using Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
- Oversee Power BI Service operations including workspace management, data refresh, security, and governance.
- Ensure performance tuning and optimization of reports, datasets, and queries.
- Mentor junior developers and drive technical excellence within the team.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop & Service (DAX, data modeling, performance tuning).
- Extensive experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics (Dedicated SQL Pools, Serverless SQL Pools, Synapse Pipelines).
- Proficiency in Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.
- Experience in building and managing complex ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience in integrating Power BI with cloud-based data platforms.
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
Good to Have:
- Experience with other Azure services (ADF, ADLS, etc.)
- Exposure to real-time or streaming data solutions
- Knowledge of data governance and security frameworks
