Role Summary
We are looking for an
Lead – Inventory Management who will own end-to-end inventory strategy and operations across PAN India. This role goes beyond stock management—you will be responsible for ensuring the right inventory is available at the right location, at the right time, aligned with demand patterns, campaigns, and business priorities.
You will play a critical role in driving inventory health, improving service levels, optimizing working capital, and enabling seamless order fulfillment at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Ownership & Visibility (PAN India)
- Own inventory across all warehouses/fulfillment centers
- Ensure high stock accuracy and real-time visibility across systems
- Demand-Supply Alignment
- Drive SKU-level inventory planning based on demand forecasts, seasonality, and regional trends
- Collaborate with demand planning and business teams to align inventory with campaigns, product launches, and sales spikes
- Inventory Optimization & Working Capital Efficiency
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance high service levels and low working capital lock-in
- Improve inventory turns, reduce dead stock, and proactively manage ageing inventory
- Drive liquidation and replenishment strategies
- Service Level & Fulfillment Excellence
- Ensure high fill rates and product availability, especially during peak demand periods
- Minimize stockouts while avoiding overstocking
- Control, Audit & Loss Prevention
- Implement robust inventory control mechanisms (cycle counts, audits, reconciliations)
- Identify and mitigate risks related to shrinkage, pilferage, and process gaps
- Data, Metrics & Reporting
- Track and drive key KPIs:
- Inventory turns
- Fill rate / service levels
- Stock ageing
- Stock accuracy
- Forecast vs actual variance
- Build actionable dashboards and provide insights to leadership
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with supply chain, procurement, warehouse operations, and sales/revenue teams
- Act as a bridge between planning and execution to ensure inventory readiness
- Process Excellence & Automation
- Continuously improve inventory processes, SOPs, and system adoption
- Drive automation and leverage ERP/WMS tools for better tracking, forecasting, and control
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in inventory management / supply chain roles
- Proven experience managing large-scale, high-volume inventory across current and previous roles
- Experience handling multi-location / PAN India inventory operations
- Strong preference for candidates from D2C / e-commerce / retail-driven businesses
- Experience managing high SKU count environments; exposure to perishable or lifecycle-sensitive inventory is a strong plus
- Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems and inventory tracking tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making
- High ownership mindset with strong execution rigor and attention to detail
