Mid‑Level .NET Developer – MDM & Azure
Location
Offshore
Role Summary
We are seeking a mid‑level .NET Developer to join a team delivering and maintaining Master Data Management (MDM) services. The role operates within an AI‑first engineering environment, contributing to CI/CD modernisation, cloud‑native development, and the support of enterprise‑scale data platforms, including solutions built on Profisee (MDM platform).
The developer will work across application development, data integration, cloud services, and production support, with a strong focus on stability, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Maintenance
- Design, build, and maintain .NET applications and services, including:
- Windows Services
- REST APIs
- Background processing components
- Develop and support Azure components, including Azure Functions and supporting services.
- Build and maintain data‑driven integrations, with strong ownership of SQL Server data access, performance, and reliability.
CI/CD & DevOps
- Modernise delivery pipelines by migrating from Octopus Deploy to CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps Pipelines or equivalent.
- Configure build and deployment pipelines, environment configurations, and secrets management.
- Improve deployment reliability, security, and repeatability.
Data & SQL Engineering
- Write complex SQL queries, joins, and window functions.
- Design and maintain stored procedures and support data modelling fundamentals.
- Perform performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, query optimisation).
- Apply safe data change practices and troubleshoot production data issues.
Production Support & Operations
- Provide end‑to‑end production support (application to database).
- Perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Maintain runbooks, operational procedures, and technical documentation to support BAU activities and reduce key‑person dependency.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with product owners, developers, testers, and platform/security teams to deliver changes safely into production.
- Contribute to Profisee‑based MDM configurations, integrations, and operational maintenance.
- Apply AI‑assisted development practices responsibly (scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, documentation) with appropriate human review.
Essential Skills & Experience (Must‑Have)
Technical Skills
- C# and .NET ( .NET Framework and/or .NET 6/7/8 )
- Strong experience building REST APIs and backend services
- SQL Server (mandatory):
- Complex queries, joins, window functions
- Stored procedures and data modelling
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Azure (minimum):
- CI/CD & Release Management:
- Git‑based development
- Build and deployment pipelines
- Environment configuration and secrets management
Engineering Practices
- Safe production change practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Understanding of secure development and deployment practices
Desirable Skills (Nice‑to‑Have)
- Azure Services:
- Application Insights
- Key Vault
- Storage Accounts
- Service Bus (or equivalent messaging services)
- Front‑End Exposure (Plus, not mandatory):
- React
- TypeScript
- State management basics
- Modern front‑end build tooling
- DevOps Tooling:
- Hands‑on experience with Octopus Deploy
- Migration of CI/CD pipelines to Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions
- Enterprise Experience:
- Windows Services deployment and operations
- Experience working in regulated or controlled environments (auditability, least privilege, change control)
- MDM & Analytics:
- Familiarity with MDM concepts
- Experience with Profisee or similar MDM tools
- Power BI (optional)
