Role Description
Automation QA Lead ( API testing, API automation, mobile apps testing )
Core Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Define automation test strategies, create detailed test plans, and estimate testing efforts for complex mobile and API projects.
- Framework Design: Design, enhance, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for both web and mobile applications.
- API Automation: Perform functional, reliability, and performance testing of APIs using Rest Assured, Postman, or SoapUI.
- Mobile App Testing: Oversee the development of automated scripts for iOS and Android platforms using Appium, ensuring high-quality mobile user experiences.
- Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to enable continuous testing.
- Leadership: Manage a team of testers, perform code reviews, mentor junior members, and make key decisions on testing methodologies.
- Defect Management: Monitor and track defects in Jira, performing root cause analysis to distinguish between environmental issues and actual bugs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 6-8 years experience
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript for writing robust, reusable scripts.

Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Automation: Develop and execute automated test scripts for native and hybrid mobile applications using tools like Appium.
- API Automation: Design frameworks to validate RESTful services, covering functionality, reliability, and security.
- Framework Maintenance: Maintain and enhance existing automation architectures
- Regression & Integration: Perform comprehensive regression and integration testing to identify defects early in the development cycle.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated suites into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for continuous validation.
- Defect Management: Collaborate with developers and product teams to log, track, and resolve bugs using Jira.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Mobile Tools: Extensive experience with Appium is essential. Familiarity with Espresso (Android) or XCUITest (iOS) is a plus.
- API Testing: Mastery of Postman for manual checks and REST Assured or Karate for automation.
- Programming: Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Frameworks: Hands-on experience with TestNG, JUnit, or Cucumber (BDD).
- Infrastructure: Knowledge of cloud testing platforms
- Version Control: Expert use of Git for repository management and code reviews.
