BI Developer - Tableau

Role Summary
UST is seeking a skilled BI Developer (Tableau) to design, develop, and maintain high impact dashboards and reports that support data driven decision making. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau, SQL, and data modeling, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard & Report Development
Design, develop, and maintain interactive and intuitive Tableau dashboards and reports
Translate business and reporting requirements into effective visual analytics solutions
Ensure dashboards align with usability and visualization best practices
Data Preparation & Integration
Prepare, cleanse, and transform data using SQL, ETL processes, and data blending
Work with multiple data sources to create reliable and performance optimized datasets
Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reports
Performance Optimization
Optimize Tableau dashboards, extracts, and underlying queries for fast performance and scalability
Troubleshoot performance issues and apply best practices for large datasets
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytical and reporting needs
Convert functional requirements into technical design and implementation
Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends and analysis
Tableau Server Management
Publish and maintain Tableau workbooks on Tableau Server
Schedule and monitor data refreshes
Manage user access, permissions, and content organization
Support server performance and governance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Proficiencies
Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
Advanced SQL querying and database skills (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar RDBMS)
Solid understanding of BI tools, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes
Data & Analytical Skills
Ability to analyze large, complex datasets and deliver clear, actionable insights
Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and data blending
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
Tableau Certification (e.g., Tableau Certified Data Analyst)
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis
Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or similar
Experience working in regulated or enterprise scale environments is a plus
