Role Description
Job Title: ServiceNow Service Portal + Integration Developer
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on
ServiceNow Developer (5-8 years) with strong expertise in
Service Portal development and
integration engineering to build intuitive self-service experiences and deliver secure, scalable integrations across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
Service Portal / UX Delivery
- Design, build, and enhance Service Portal experiences using pages, widgets, themes, UI policies, client scripts, and server scripts.
- Develop and customize advanced portal widgets using AngularJS (Service Portal framework), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Implement responsive UI, accessibility considerations, and consistent UX patterns aligned with enterprise branding.
- Ensure portal security with role-based controls, secure server-side data access, and adherence to ACLs.
Integration Development (Primary Focus)
- Build and support integrations using REST/SOAP, Scripted REST APIs, IntegrationHub / Flow Designer, and MID Server (for on-prem connectivity).
- Implement authentication patterns including OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, API keys, and certificate-based security as required.
- Design robust error handling, logging, retries, and monitoring for integration flows to ensure operational stability.
- Use Import Sets / Transform Maps / Scheduled Jobs for data ingest and synchronization where appropriate.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-8 years of ServiceNow development experience with strong hands-on delivery.
- Service Portal expertise: custom widgets, pages, themes; AngularJS-based widget development; portal security and performance.
- Integration expertise: inbound/outbound REST, Scripted REST APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, payload transformations (JSON/XML), and resilient integration design.
- Strong scripting skills: JavaScript, ServiceNow server-side scripting (Script Includes, Business Rules) and client-side scripting (Client Scripts, UI Policies).
- Solid understanding of ACLs, roles, groups, and secure coding practices in ServiceNow.
- Experience with Update Sets / Application scope, and familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, source control) is a plus.
