Role Description
Job Summary
This role demands strong hands-on experience with NAND interface protocols (PCIe/NVMe), flash transport layer validation, and firmware/hardware debugging across multiple platforms (pre-silicon, emulation, silicon bring-up).
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement automated test cases using Python and C/C++ to validate interface-level and protocol-specific behaviors.
Deliver test specifications document and test objectives.
Align the development and validation process with cross-functional teams.
Create internal and external specifications & user documents.
Learn constantly, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of problem-solving.
Apply critical thinking to the results/data of competitive analysis for product development.
Work with cross-functional teams, including ASIC, Firmware, and Validation, to ensure seamless product development.
Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of NAND Flash architecture, NAND interface protocols, and error management.
Understanding of communication interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and PCIe.
Experience with C/C++ in developing Embedded FW & scripting automation using Python
Proven ability to work as part of a global team in multiple geographies
B.Tech. in Electronics , Electrical , Computer Science Engineering
Requires 8-10 years of experience in firmware validation of complex embedded systems.
Experience with embedded systems, firmware-hardware debugging, and low-level protocol analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SanDisk/Western Digital test environments, toolsets, or NAND characterization flows.
Exposure to PCIe, or NVMe storage technologies and protocol stacks.
Knowledge of ECC, wear leveling, garbage collection, and NAND maintenance algorithms.
Familiarity with pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up environments.
Soft Skills
Strong debugging and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to document and present findings clearly.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional global team across time zones.
Proactive mindset to drive issues to resolution independently.
