About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to take ownership of hardware development activities from initial concept through production.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring product reliability, manufacturability, regulatory compliance and overall quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role covers analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design, power electronics, PCB design, board bring-up, hardware debugging and end-to-end product development for industrial, embedded, IoT and healthcare-related applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits, including sensor interfaces, signal-conditioning circuits and microcontroller-based hardware.
- Design and review power-electronics circuits, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters, LDOs, battery-charging circuits, protection circuits and switching circuits.
- Develop schematics and perform PCB layout, routing and design reviews.
- Conduct circuit simulations and prepare test plans, bills of materials and technical documentation.
- Take ownership of PCB design quality, including signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, EMI/EMC performance, thermal management and manufacturability.
- Lead board bring-up, hardware debugging, fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis using standard laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, quality-assurance and manufacturing teams.
- Coordinate with EMS partners, PCB manufacturers and other external vendors.
- Support product certification, regulatory-compliance and design-verification activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- B.E. or B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Embedded Systems, Power Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in electronic hardware design and product development.
Required Technical Skills
- Seven or more years of experience in electronic hardware design, embedded hardware development or industrial product development.
- Strong hands-on experience in analog and digital circuit design.
- Practical experience in power-electronics design, including AC-DC and DC-DC converters, protection circuits and EMI/EMC-aware PCB layout.
- Experience working with 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers.
- Experience in schematic design, PCB design review, board bring-up and hardware debugging.
- Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers and other standard electronic test equipment.
- Strong technical-documentation skills, including the preparation of design notes, test reports, bills of materials and product-release records.
Desired Skills
- Experience with industrial communication protocols and wireless technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee and LoRa.
- Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad or Eagle.
- Experience with circuit-simulation tools such as LTspice or PSpice.
- Exposure to IoT hardware development, safety-critical systems or hazardous-area product design.
- Experience collaborating with EMS partners and manufacturing vendors.
- Experience working within a global engineering environment.
- Exposure to healthcare products or other regulatory-driven product-development environments would be an advantage.
- Strong communication, mentoring and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- Academic qualifications and relevance of the engineering discipline.
- Depth of hands-on hardware-design and power-electronics experience.
- Practical experience in product development and delivery.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and technical-debugging abilities.
- Experience in PCB design, power electronics and industrial or IoT product development.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong practical experience across PCB design, power electronics and industrial or IoT product development.
