Role Description The Lead Engineer Seals role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Chennai Area within the Automotive and Farm Equipment Business. The role involves leading the design, development, validation, and optimization of seals and sealing systems for automotive and farm equipment applications. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams such as design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure robust sealing solutions that meet performance, safety, and cost targets. The Lead Engineer will review and interpret technical specifications, perform root-cause analysis on sealing-related issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in materials, design, and manufacturing processes. The position also includes preparing technical documentation, supporting prototype and production builds, and mentoring junior team members to uphold engineering best practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and expertise in seals and sealing systems design.
- Candidates should possess skills in CAD/CAE tools and engineering analysis for component and system-level design validation.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Candidates should possess experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing supplier interactions.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of automotive and farm equipment standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical information clearly.
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required; a master’s degree or specialized training in sealing technologies is an advantage.
- Relevant industry experience in automotive or farm equipment engineering, especially in component design and validation, is highly beneficial.
