The Senior Engineer for Structural reports to the Discipline Lead for the Mining and Metals Sector. The position will provide consistent leadership and role modelling of Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture across the Sector that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring and prioritises the health and wellbeing of people. You will set clear direction regarding client focus and responsiveness and will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs.
This role will focus on the delivery of key opportunities within the new energy and resources sector, including studies from our clients in new energy and resources and downstream delivery phases of studies and sustaining capital works. The role will work alongside Engineers and Technicians, providing project delivery, design management and project management. The role will support the management of the section in terms of team development and growth, building design capability and growing the portfolio within Jacobs. Key to this role will be interfacing with the ANZ Resource Hub Teams in order to improve delivery capability to meet targets.
Here's what you'll need
- Typical > 8 years experience in relevant discipline and industry Current knowledge of international and local engineering methods, applicable codes and specifications associated with new energy and resources projects Experience with various aspects of the planning, design and commissioning processes, construction methods and interface requirements of multi-disciplinary projects, with sound knowledge of current design standards Effectively contributes to structural engineering elements of studies, projects and proposal teams
- Familiar with delivery methodology including initiation, development and delivery-phases, and the specific requirements and levels of accuracy as well as design maturity required at each delivery gate for resources and/or new energy clients Provide engineering verification on projects
- Coaching and mentoring Change management
- Effective communication Relevant experience in ANZ Resources market projects highly desirable Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Fosters technical development and career opportunities within the team
- Strong planning & organisational skills - prioritising, task and resource allocation, scheduling Delegating Responsibility – defines parameters, provides support & stays informed Decision making – identifies issues, problems and opportunities & chooses appropriate action Enjoys working with others and building relationships
