Job details:
We are seeking an experienced professional with strong expertise in forging design and manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance in developing forging designs, preparing technical documentation, coordinating with production teams, and ensuring product quality and manufacturability in line with customer and industry requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Propose design solutions for closed die forged parts.
- Be an active member of cross functional team addressing workshop concerns of process efficiency / die life / material handling or quality concerns.
- Develop and review forging component designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with production, quality, project, and customer teams for design execution
- Ensure forging designs meet customer requirements, engineering standards, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Support new product development, process improvements, and design modifications
- Conduct design reviews and resolve technical issues related to forging operations.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and technical discussions.
- Mentor junior designers and support knowledge-sharing activities.
- Benchmark industrial practices to propose new solutions to implement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in forging industry, preferably in the engineering design office.
- Experience in hot forging of aluminium/ steel / titanium preferred.
- Experience in aerospace is an added advantage
- Knowledge of simulation/software related to forging processes is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to different stakeholders.
