Overview
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle and Exadata to manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate will manage mission-critical database environments, optimize performance, support cloud migrations, automation initiatives and security of database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Database Administration: Install, configure, upgrade, and patch, troubleshoot performance issues, tune queries, manage replication/clustering.
- Automating provisioning, patching, alert resolutions
- Configuring VCN, subnets and security groups for databases
- Performance & Capacity Planning: Optimize workloads, forecast scaling needs.
- Configure Oracle grid infrastructure, ASM and RAC clusters
- Implement data guard for DR and HA
- Support Exadata db@cloud deployments
- Define and enforce database security policies, including TDE, auditing, and access controls
- Collaborate with InfoSec teams to conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for performance degradation, node failures, or data loss incidents
- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and architectural blueprints
Qualifications
- Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
- Over 5 years of DBA in Oracle
- Experience in managing Exadata systems
- Experience with scripting tools to automate routine operation tasks using Ansible/Python
