About the Role
We are a Bangalore-based engineering services firm partnering with EV OEMs and mobility companies on full-vehicle development programs. We are hiring a Lead Engineer to own the full-vehicle CAD assembly and integration for a flagship EV client engagement, lead a delivery team of 35 mechanical engineers, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full-vehicle CAD assembly and integration for client EV programs — chassis, BIW, powertrain, battery pack, suspension, and electrical packaging
- Manage the master assembly tree, top-down skeleton, in-context references, and tolerance stack-ups across all sub-system interfaces
- Drive design reviews, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, GD&T, and BOM release in line with client standards
- Lead a delivery team of 35 mechanical and design engineers, including module leads, mid-level engineers, and junior engineers
- Structure the team into sub-system pods (chassis, body, powertrain, battery integration, suspension, electrical packaging) with clear module ownership
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through structured CAD reviews, pair-design sessions, and 1:1s
- Drive resource planning, workload allocation, and delivery tracking across the 35-member team
- Serve as the primary technical interface with the client's product, manufacturing, and supplier teams
- Coordinate with client electrical, battery, software, and industrial design teams on integration and packaging
- Lead root-cause analysis on prototype failures and close the loop through design iteration
- Support homologation-readiness for mechanical sub-systems (AIS-038, AIS-156, etc.)
- Own program delivery milestones, design release schedules, and client engineering reviews
Required Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or Production Engineering
- 15–20 years of experience in vehicle engineering at an OEM, EV startup, Tier-1 supplier, or engineering services firm
- Demonstrated experience personally assembling a complete vehicle in CAD
- Proven experience leading large engineering teams (20+ engineers) on full-vehicle development programs
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo
- Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, or 3DEXPERIENCE)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal design, plastic part design, weldments, and machined components
- Experience structuring teams into sub-system pods with module-level ownership
- Hands-on exposure to prototype build, debug, and design iteration
- Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience delivering EV vehicle development programs for OEM clients at scale
- Working knowledge of battery pack integration, motor mounting, thermal management, and HV harness routing
- Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS, HyperWorks, or Abaqus)
- Understanding of Indian and international homologation standards
- Experience working with international OEM clients across multiple time zones
- Exposure to agile / hybrid delivery models adapted for hardware engineering teams
