About The Role
We are establishing our in-house design function and are looking for a senior designer to lead it. This is a founding position, offering a unique opportunity to define the visual language of Apollyon Dynamics from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the visual identity, developing scalable design systems, and shaping the company's overall aesthetic. You will work directly with leadership and collaborate across departments including engineering, business development, and communications to ensure a cohesive brand presence.
The scope of work encompasses the entire brand surface: identity, digital platforms, motion graphics, editorial materials, physical branding, and experiential design. The role demands a high standard of excellence, comparable to the most design-serious technology companies worldwide. As a founding team member, you will also have the opportunity to build and lead a talented design team as the company grows.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 6+ years of design experience, gained through working at a studio, agency, or in-house team within a technology or related sector. A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across at least three disciplines—such as brand identity, motion graphics, digital product/UI, editorial design, or physical/experiential design—is essential. Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is required, along with skills in After Effects and Premiere Pro; familiarity with DaVinci Resolve is a plus. A working knowledge of 3D tools like Cinema 4D, Blender, Rhino, or equivalent is preferred. Additionally, understanding HTML/CSS for web QA and collaboration with engineering teams is advantageous. Experience managing external creative vendors and operating as the primary designer within an organization is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the visual identity of Apollyon Dynamics across all brand touchpoints, ensuring consistency and coherence.
- Design and produce high-stakes materials such as investor decks, Ministry of Defence briefings, and product presentations to communicate complex concepts effectively.
- Oversee the creation of brand films, product visualizations, and documentary content in collaboration with external production teams to enhance brand storytelling.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive and scalable design system that supports the company's growth and evolving needs.
- Manage relationships with external creative vendors including photographers, animators, and fabricators to ensure quality and alignment with brand standards.
- Lead the physical brand presence at defense expos, industry events, and partner engagements, ensuring a strong and consistent brand impact.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor the internal design team as the company expands, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
