Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lead Database Administrator role based in Ahmedabad. The Lead Database Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases that support the company’s healthcare technology solutions. Responsibilities include managing database performance, security, and availability, monitoring and optimizing queries, and handling backup, recovery, and replication processes. The role involves diagnosing and resolving database issues, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams on schema changes, and implementing best practices for data integrity and scalability. The Lead Database Administrator will also mentor junior team members, document standards and procedures, and contribute to planning for future data architecture and capacity needs.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security management.
- Proficiency in Database Design, data modeling, and schema optimization for scalable and reliable applications.
- Experience with Troubleshooting complex database issues, query optimization, and root cause analysis.
- Hands-on expertise in Replication, backup, and recovery strategies to ensure high availability and business continuity.
- Experience with leading relational database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and familiarity with NoSQL databases is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and cloud or virtualized environments relevant to database hosting.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in healthcare or medical IT domains is a plus, with an understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements.
