Inspire Institute of Sport, Bellary is looking for a Head of Data Analysis to join their team in Bellary.
Role Purpose: The Head of Data Analysis will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and delivery of our TeamWorks Athlete Management System and ensuring effective data driven processes within all sports science and performance operations departments. The successful candidate will help embed a data-driven culture, providing actionable insights to coaches, operational teams and sports scientists to support evidence-based high quality decision-making.

Reporting to: High Performance Director
Key Responsibilities:
Athlete Management System: Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimisation of the TeamWorks System, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality.
Data Collection & Integration: Coordinate data collection processes across all sports science disciplines, integrating data into the AMS, HUBS, ARMS and S&C systems for integration efficiency.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse performance, wellness, and training load data to provide actionable insights to coaches and sports science staff.
Data Visualisation: Develop dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Tableau or Power BI to support data-driven decisions. Data to be produced in a timely manner and to be presentable at board level and athlete level.
Collaboration: Work closely with sports scientists, operational teams and coaches to integrate data insights into performance programs.
In collaboration with provide a full results analysis for all event in all sports or as needed alongside annual performance outcomes which would include national and international results. Keep track on all global athlete ranking systems.
Technology Management: Manage data analysis tools and ensure their effective use within sports programs.
Innovation: Support the development and implementation of new data analysis techniques (AI) and technologies to enhance performance and improve operational effectiveness outcomes.
Maintain and regularly report on athlete numbers in each sport (by region and on SEP). This will include the maintenance of the athlete grading system via the performance matrix.
Experience Criteria:
Experience working in sport – minimum 5 Years - Essential
Experience in manipulation, cleansing and joining of datasets - Essential
Interest in sport and curiosity to learn about combat sports, athletics, rowing and swimming as part of the role. - Essential
Evidence of working with National level athletes - Essential
Ability to work independently, prioritise own workload, and balance conflicting demands and tight deadlines - Essential
Working in a recognised sports and/or high-performance institute environment within a multi-disciplinary team - Desirable
Experience in leading a team of Data Scientists - Desirable
Qualifications:
Degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics) or a practitioner with a proven interest in building a career in data science - Essential
Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience in data analysis within a sports environment.
Experience with Athlete Management Systems.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
Understanding of sports science metrics (e.g., wellness, load monitoring, injury surveillance).
Experience using coding languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
Knowledge of biomechanics and sports performance analysis.
